Fun gadgets can be tricky, we can help pilot the Tablet Wars!

This post is not about tablet reviews, instead a simple comparison guide that can help ease purchase anxiety and make you get the most out of your tablet. They might not be the newest tabs on the block but they are definitely still cool electronic gadgets and worth the investment.

The Google Nexus 7 Tablet is impressive because not only is it small (7 inches), it packs quite a punch. It sports a quad core processor capable of delivering lightning quick app launches and seamless multi-tasking. It has a very user-friendly price point at $245, making this product a definite bang-for-your-buck device. A drawback, however, and being a minor one in my opinion, is that it does not offer a rear-facing camera. But check out any cool gadget gift site and you will certainly find it in stock.

Shifting gears to Microsoft, their new Surface Windows 8 Tablet is the newest on the market and can definitely hold its own with the big boys. It is a tablet and a computer at the same time capable of running multiple apps seamlessly. This is totally a fun gadget and more useful than just games and videos. The Surface also comes with a case that doubles as protection and a fully functional keyboard! It does have some drawbacks however; this particular tab is double the price of the Nexus 7 at $499. You cannot download third party apps from the app store, but aside from that it is designed to compete against the iPad and the Samsung Galaxy Tab. If money is no option and you want a more complete computer experience, than the Microsoft Surface Windows 8 tablet will fulfill your every need.

Depending on how much you are willing to spend or the experience you are looking for, both products can be found on any cool gadget gift site ready to deliver as promised.

Past: Ok so we cheated a little bit. Its not exactly old but the Olympus Pen E-P3 Digital SLR (hyperlink) looks straight out of the 1950s! Definitely does not lack gadget style with a design almost identical to the 50s model but offers all of the conveniences of modern photography. (At a premium: $899)

Present: How about the latest cool gadget gifts? If you are anything like us you definitely played video games growing up. The Neo-Geo X (hyperlink) takes all of those amazing arcade games and brings them to the present time in one handheld console. It comes with 20 pre-loaded games and SD card expansion for more gaming potential. (Price: $175)

Future: This one is a bit of wishful thinking but it’s the future and you will have some money by then, right? How about a 3D printer (hyperlink) as a cool gadget gift? This baby replicates almost anything into a tangible product so we are glad it’s not out for consumer purchase yet. Think of all the possibilities, and then the consequences. If you can find one, or have a time machine, the MakerBot Replicator 2 will set you back $5,000.

Will you check back next year for more festivities and yuletide coping advice? Tell us what you think. Goodnight to all and to all a cool gadget gift site!

One Funky Phone you don’t want to miss! – Review of the Samsung Galaxy S4 running Google Nexus 4 operating system

As far as unique phones go, this is a real game changer. For fans of the popular Samsung Galaxy S4 who must have the latest updates from Google, this phone satisfies your every desire!

I’ve not always been a fan of the Google Android platform, personally I’m an iPhone man myself, but this funky phone got my attention. Google has stripped away all the bells and whistles that Samsung has been offering, and replaced it with their flagship operating system.

Fans will be treated to a skinless version of the 4.2 Jelly Bean OS and the popular bootloader already unlocked. In addition, the latest system updates only offered through Nexus phones will be available as they come out.

Being one of the coolest Android mod phones on the market it also comes unlocked, capable of utilizing your provider’s 4G LTE network, and boasts a powerful Snapdragon 600 processor.

The phone is already available on the Google Play app store for $649 making it a little bit pricey for the cost effective consumer. However, if you don’t mind paying for expensive phones and want to be ahead of the trend, this is something to keep on your radar.
